INTELLIGENT SEARCH

Semantic

Rather than just matching keywords, our search engine analyzes the meaning of words to find the underlying concept of a search query. This enables it to understand questions phrased in different ways.

Behind the process is Transversal's Memory Engine™ technology. The Memory Engine™ stores and retrieves information like the human memory, by creating relationships among words and concepts. (See Downloads [registration required] for more detail.)

Clustered

Because the search engine understands relationships, it automatically guides the customer to ‘related’ content as they browse their search results. This enables the customer to refine a broad search, or to get information on related issues, without having to go back and reword their search query.

Context-sensitive

The search engine uses the customer's location in the site to give context to a search query. For example, a customer searches for ‘blue’. The knowledgebase has information about both blue whales and blue cheese. Because the customer has been browsing the cheese category, the search engine prioritizes the entries about blue cheese.

Customizable

Specialized dictionary modules enable the search to understand your business language. For example, the search engine will recognize that plastic in a banking enquiry means a credit card and that pin is the same as Personal Identification Number. Transversal further customizes the dictionary for your individual needs.

Flexible

Customers can search by typing full-sentence questions, phrases or keywords. They can also control the scope of the search, choosing to search the entire knowledgebase or a particular category.

Usable

The search engine can find the right answer even if a search query isn't precisely worded. It can also suggest corrections for misspellings.

Multilingual

The Memory Engine™ is available in 16 languages.
